Man arrested after hours-long standoff

COLORADO SPRINGS - Colorado Springs police arrested a man Monday (8/25) night after an hours-long standoff on the city's eastside.

Police were called to a home in the area of Gahart Drive and Murray Boulevard, near Airport Road and South Academy Boulevard.

Police say Austin Hood was hiding inside and refused to come out.  He was wanted on theft and felony menacing charges.

After several hours, police used tear gas to get him out of the home and took him into custody.
