Man gets 10 years in crash that killed officer

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - A man who pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in the death of an Englewood police officer has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The Denver Post reported that Conner Donahue was sentenced Friday in the death last year of Officer Jeremy Bitner. Donohue's blood alcohol level was an estimated .276 when he struck Bitner while Bitner was conducting a traffic stop in May 2012.
Bitner is survived by a wife and two young children.
Donohue pleaded guilty in February to vehicular assault, homicide, leaving the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury, leaving the scene of an accident causing great death, and driving under the influence.
