Man killed in rollover crash identified

Police say driver was speeding, not wearing seat belt

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A man was killed when he rolled his SUV on Powers Boulevard Sunday evening. 

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Powers about 1/4 of a mile south of Platte Avenue.

Police say the driver, identified as 23-year-old Michael Madrid of Fountain, was speeding and was not wearing a seat belt.

No other vehicles were involved and no one else was injured.

As of 9 p.m., southbound Powers was down to one lane while police continued their investigation.
