Missing Black Forest children found safe

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - Two children who disappeared from their yard in Black Forest Thursday (1/30/14) have been found and are safe.

The 10-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl disappeared around 11 a.m. A search and rescue dog found them about a mile and a half from their home. Investigators think they may have been going to visit a horse barn that they have been to in the past.

The family lives in the 11500 block of Windmill Road. Lt. Jeff Kramer with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office says they were playing in a playhouse on their property when they wandered off.

The kids' mom says she went to check on them and discovered they were gone.
