COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. - Sister Simone Campbell leads her fellow Catholic sisters in a two-day tour of Colorado bringing attention to the need to end tax breaks for the wealthy.
"Nuns on the Bus" made their first stop at the Meadow Park Community Center in Colorado Springs on Monday.
The group is speaking out against Congressman Paul Ryan's budget plan.
"There's an alternate plan, the faithful budget," said Campbell.
She said her 55-page plan can be summed up in five words, "Reasonable revenue for responsibly programs."
"Those who benefit the most from our amazing country's economy should pay a little more to help and invest for our future," said Campbell.
Her goal for Colorado is to get Senators Mark Udall and Michael Bennett to commit to voting yes on the faithful budget.
"Nuns on the Bus" will travel to Denver on Tuesday.
