Parolee and wife arrested after stolen gun, drugs and money were found in their home

PUEBLO, Colo. - A parolee and his wife are facing serious charges after Pueblo Parole listed him as an escapee and launched an investigation with the sheriff's office.

Carlos Valdez, 29, and his wife, Marquisa Valdez, 31, were arrested on Wednesday, April 9, 2014.

The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office says Pueblo Parole had placed a mobile home in the 5000 block of Red Creek Springs Road under surveillance after Carlos Valdez was placed on escape status.

The sheriff's office says a stolen semi-automatic handgun, 3 grams of heroin and $3,000 cash were seized from the home.

The Valdez's are facing charges for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Carlos Valdez also faces charges of theft, possession of a weapon by an offender and special offender charges associated with the circumstances of the arrest.
