'Pervymcperv' sentenced to prison for possessing child porn

DENVER - A Colorado Springs man who went by the screen name "pervymcperv" on a peer-to-peer software program will spend the next eight years in federal prison.

The Department of Justice says Kevin Shea, 43, will also have to serve 10 years on supervised release, pay restitution totaling $7,000 to the victims of his crimes, and register as a sex offender.

The DOJ says Shea used a peer-to-peer software program, using the name "pervymcperv" to distribute 97 images of child pornography and 3 videos of child pornography. FBI agents seized two laptop computers and an external hard drive from his home that combined contained approximately 4,838 images of child pornography including images of bondage and torture, and 228 videos featuring child pornography.

The investigation into Shea began in January 2011.
