Phone systems repaired in Monument area

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Phone systems have been repaired after a Friday morning outage in Monument, Palmer Lake and Gleneagle.

The outage was due to damage to a Century Link fiber optic cable.  The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says power was restored around 10:30 a.m.

The outage impacted the ability for residents in those areas to dial 911 or make other calls on hard or landline phones.

The Sheriff's Office sent dispatchers from their Communications Center to assist with inbound telephone calls at that location.

Cellular service was not affected by the outage.
