Pilot dies in fiery Douglas County plane crash

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. - A pilot died after crashing a plane near Aurora Wednesday. (3/19/14).

Helicopter video showed the plane was badly damaged and consumed by fire.

KMGH reports that the plane went down near Otero Drive and Phillips Place just southeast of Aurora in Douglas County.

The fire that sparked as a result of the crash is now out.

The plane went down near a subdivision, but the Aurora Police Department says no homes were threatened by the flames.

The pilot was the only person on the plane.
