ALAMOSA, Colo. - A 21-year-old Adams State University student has pleaded no contest to felony possession of explosives and reckless endangerment after an explosive device was discovered on the Adams State University campus last October.
Kenan Bussen is expected to be sentenced to 18 months of probation, perform 200 hours of community service and undergo continued mental health evaluations and counseling.
According to the Alamosa Valley Courier , Bussen's attorney said the device would not meet the definition of an explosive device under federal law, but his client was entering his plea to settle the case. Sentencing is June 11.
A university police officer says he found a chemical explosive device in the parking lot outside Rex Stadium and authorities were able to disarm it. Authorities provided no motive for the incident.
