Police: 3 dead, 2 injured in Denver rollover crash

DENVER, Colo. - Authorities say three people are dead and two injured following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Denver.

Police spokesman Sonny Jackson says the accident occurred about 9:30 p.m. Sunday when a vehicle carrying five males struck a tree at the junction of South Irving Street and West Jewell Avenue.

The vehicle then rolled over and trapped some of the occupants.

Jackson says two people were pronounced dead at the scene, and the third person died after being rushed to a hospital.

The remaining two occupants were hospitalized with injuries. Jackson says they were undergoing surgery but he no information on their conditions.

No names were released.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
