Police arrest 1 in carjacking

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Police have one man in custody in connection to a Thursday night carjacking.

A 54-year-old man told police two white men assaulted him with a gun, then stole his truck near E. Fountain Blvd. and S. Chelton Rd.

One suspect left in the stolen truck. The other suspect ran on foot.

Shortly after, police found the stolen truck with one of the suspects inside near Garden of the Gods Rd. and I-25. After a short struggle, police arrested the 29-year-old suspect.

Police found a gun in the waistband of the suspect.

Police say the 29-year-old suspect had an unrelated misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. He will be charged with aggravated robbery, second-degree assault, felony menacing and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

The second suspect is still on the loose.
