Police hunt down man suspected of selling drugs

Hour-long search on Arvada Street

Police, ATF track down man suspected of selling drugs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - After an hour-long search, Colorado Springs police officers and ATF agents found a man suspected of selling drugs.

Police said the search started when the man and his friend ran from officers who tried to pull their car over for a traffic stop on the 300 block of Arvada Street.

Police said one of the men threw a gun as he was running away.

Officers quickly tracked down one of the two men, and eventually found the other hiding in an apartment on Corona Street. Police said the resident of the apartment wasn't home, and had left the door unlocked.

"We think the suspect has a past selling narcotics," said CSPD Sgt. Brian Cummings. "In doing so, he had guns with him and a good amount of cash."

The man was taken to the hospital by ambulance because he had cut himself up trying to get over a razor wire fence.

Police did not identify him, but said he would likely face charges for narcotics and burglary.
