Police investigate attempted kidnapping

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping.

Police were called to the area of Buena Ventura St. and N. Walnut St. around 9:00 Sunday night when someone reported that a man had tried to lure two children who were riding their bikes.

Police say the man pulled up to an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old and asked them if they wanted any candy. The two children then rode away down a path where the suspect could not follow them. The children went home and told their parents about the incident, who then called police.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, between 30 to 40 years old with a bald head.

Police say the two children had taken a stranger danger-type class, so they knew how to respond in that type of situation.
