Police investigate convenience store robberies

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Two 7-Eleven convenience stores were robbed in Colorado Springs overnight Tuesday (10/29/13) into early Wednesday morning (10/30/13).

The first robbery was reported at 11:13 p.m. at 331 s. Hancock Avenue. Police say the suspect walked into the store, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money. The robber got away with an unknown amount of cash in a dark colored SUV.

Police say the robber in the first holdup is described as being approximately 24-years-old with a thin build and blonde hair.

The second robbery was reported at 3:35 a.m. at 450 n. Murray Boulevard. In that holdup, police say the robber pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money and cigarettes. The robber in this case also got away with an unknown amount of money as well as several packs of cigarettes. Police say he got away in a blue vehicle.

The robber in the second crime was approximately 30 years old and wearing a blue hoody.

Police are investigating whether these two robberies, and a holdup at the Entertainmart on s. Academy Blvd. are connected.
