Police looking for burglar who stole victim's gun

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs Police are looking for a burglar they say stole some items, including a gun, from a homeowner.

Police told KRDO NewsChannel 13 that the homeowner returned to his house in the 1500 block of N. Royer St. after visiting a friend on Monday afternoon.  When he arrived, he noticed that items had been moved around in his home.  The burglar then came around the corner, pointing the victim's handgun at him, police said.

The burglar ran out the back door and left with another man in a silver Nissan Maxima or Chevrolet Impala with a small spoiler on the back.

The thief is described as a white man in his late 20s, 6 feet tall or taller with a thin build and a scraggly beard.  He was wearing a blue stocking cap, blue sweatshirt with no hood, blue jeans and tennis shoes.

The stolen gun is a .38-caliber police special.  No one was injured during the burglary.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call police at 719-444-7000.
