Police looking for carjacking suspect

Car recovered hours later

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs police are looking for a carjacking suspect Tuesday morning.

Police tell us a 2012 Dodge Challenger was taken by gun point from 29 Audubon Drive around 6:45 a.m.

The car owner had pulled his car out of the garage to warm the engine before taking his kids to school, according to police.  While inside he heard his car engine accelerate and saw a man in his vehicle.  The car owner scuffled with the suspect until he saw that the suspect had a handgun. 

The car was found around 10:00 a.m. by the Whitney Young Manor Apartments in Security.

Police are looking for a Hispanic man who is 5'8" to 6' tall. He had his face covered and was wearing all dark clothing.
