COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A man is facing criminal charges for assaulting an officer while he was being taken into custody.
Police were called to the Arbor Point Apartments on Hancock Expy. in Colorado Springs shortly before 10:00 Saturday night when someone reported that a naked man had just jumped out of an apartment window. There were also reports that the man was fighting with security guards.
When police arrived, they saw the man running from the security guards, then jump through a window.
Police made contact with the man but he refused to cooperate, so officers tased him twice, then used a canine on him.
While police were carrying the man to a police cruiser, he kicked an officer in the stomach.
Brandon Evans, 21, was taken to the hospital to treat multiple injuries from jumping through windows and from contact with the canine. Police believe he was under the influence of an illegal drug.
Evans faces charges of Second Degree Assault on a Police Officer, First Degree Criminal Trespass, and Criminal Mischief.
