Police: One arrested, two sought in Front Range fraud bust

MONUMENT, Colo. - The Monument Police Department says one person has been arrested and two others are being sought in connection to a fraud ring that has committed crimes from Denver to Pueblo.

Geider Morales was arrested. Kimberly Danais Navas and Eriec Joseph Rodriguez-Morales are listed as wanted.

Monument Police say this investigation began early in the spring of 2014 and was conducted in cooperation with the Colorado Springs Police Department and the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

Police say that during the investigation they identified three people who were involved in criminal activity, including identity theft, use of fraudulent credit cards and theft.

Monument Police say two homes in the town of Monument were identified as being associated with the investigation.

A home located in the 17000 block of Crestview Ct. was searched by the Fountain/Monument SWAT team on the morning of July 1, 2014. A home in the 15000 block of James Gate Pl. was searched simultaneously by the Colorado Springs SWAT team.

Eight people were found in the homes, including Morales, who was arrested and is facing charges of identity theft, theft, money laundering, forgery and computer crimes. Morales is the only person who has been arrested.

Monument Police said that evidence of $100,000 worth of fraudulent activity involving more than 50 victims was found during the home searches.
