Police: Panhandler arrested for breaking into cars

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs Police say they have arrested a known panhandler for breaking into cars in and around Palmer Park.

The arrest was made on Friday, April 4, 2014.

Police say they were investigating a string of car break-ins at the Palmer Park Trailheads when they made contact with Timothy Taylor.

Detectives say they suspect Taylor forced open a luggage container on a vehicle and stole two purses filled with checks, credit cards and cash. They say they were also able to link Taylor to an earlier vehicle break-in at the Arby's restaurant at N. Academy Blvd. and Vickers Drive as well.
