Police: Security officer shoots at storage unit burglary suspect

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Police say a security officer at a storage unit in Colorado Springs shot at a burglary suspect Sunday night.

It happened at the Motor City Mini Storage on Motor City Dr.

Police say the security officer crossed paths with a burglar who was trying to break into a storage unit, after burglarizing at least six other units. The security officer shot at the suspect after he saw what he thought was a pistol in the suspect's hands. The suspect then ran away.

Police searched the area for the suspect, but were not able to find him.

Police say there was no evidence showing the burglar was actually shot by the security officer.
