Protective vests donated to two K9 cops in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Two K9 officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department are sporting new vests that could one day save their lives.

The bullet and stab protective vests were donated to Officers Heat and Petra thanks to the combined efforts of a Massachusetts charity called Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., Nick's Pro Fitness in Evergreen and local chiropractor and massage therapist Sara Schmidt.

Each vest costs $950.00 and comes with a five year warranty.

The vests are made in Michigan and include custom embroidery on the body armor.
