Sheriff says Mapps murdered three people before setting house on fire

RYE, Colo. - The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office is still looking for a man they say killed three people before setting fire to the house they were in.

The Sheriff says 59-year-old Harry Mapps killed Reginald Tuttle, his wife Kim and their daughter Dawn Roderick last Wednesday.

Sheriff Taylor says his office has received hundreds of calls, many of them people who claim to have seen Mapps in the area; but all the evidence they have suggests Mapps has left the state.

Now they're working with the FBI to find Mapps. "We're trying to find out where he used to live, all his history to find out where he might go, and also what he might look like now," says Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor.

Rye residents who knew both the victims and Mapps are still in shock over what happened. "We knew Harry, Harry was dispatching for Reggie when my husband was driving and he was such a nice quiet mild-mannered person that we can't; something had to have snapped," says Jacqui Shray.

Sheriff Taylor says his investigators will probably still be spending the next couple days investigating the crime scene before they release the scene.
