Victims arrested after shooting

PUEBLO, Colo. - Pueblo police are investigating a shooting that sent two people to the hospital.

The victims-- a man and woman--were taken to Parkview Medical Center, where they treated and released. After their release, they were both arrested for warrants. Their names have not been released.

Police said the shooting happened at a home on Cyprus Drive shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday.

While officers were responding to a the original 911 call, an officer stopped a car in the same area. That officer found two gunshot victims, one male and one female, in the car.

Police said the man and woman had gone to the home on Cypress Drive to pick someone up.  That's when an argument started.  Police say James Hurtado, 30, pulled a gun and fired it.

Hurtado was arrested and charged with second degree assault with a deadly weapon, menacing with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon by a previous offender and reckless endangerment.
