Pueblo police searching for cigarette thief

PUEBLO, Colo. - Pueblo Police say a man who was caught on surveillance video stealing cigarettes from a south side convenience store might be responsible for other crimes in the city.

Police say the man stole four cartons of cigarettes from the Western Convenience store at 3201 Lake Avenue on the night of January 17, 2014. The thief warned the clerk not to follow him and claimed he had a gun.

On April 4, 2014, police released surveillance images from the January incident in hopes someone will recognize the thief and give them a call.

Police say the robber is a man in his early to mid twenties, 5`6"-5`8" tall, weighing 130-140 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes, a light mustache and had some type of tattoo on the right side of his neck. The man was wearing black jeans, a black puffy coat with an unknown emblem on the left chest area, unknown white emblem on the jacket in the center back of the neck area and a black hat.

Police say the man may be responsible for a number of recent crimes as well, but they did not offer specifics.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pueblo Police at 719-553-2502 or Crime Stoppers at 719-542-STOP (7867).
