PUEBLO, Colo. - Organizers and petitioners met for the first time Wednesday night.
They're collecting signatures to recall Pueblo Councilwomen Sandy Daff and Ami Nawrocki.
A group of local trash haulers say emails and relations with the councilwomen become personal and ugly and they want them to be voted out of office early.
They only have two months to collect thousands of signatures to hold a recall election for Daff and Nowrocki.
They're double checking each signature and the recall rules to ensure the signatures will be valid.
"With just diligence and taking it on a little bit at a time, keeping up with it on a regular basis, I think we'll be in good shape," said Becky Cortese, recall organizer.
Councilman Chris Kaufmann resigned earlier this month after emails were obtained which showed a possible breach of the Colorado Sunshine Law, which prohibits three or more elected officials from meeting privately, including email, to discuss public business.
