Pueblo woman, 60, kidnapped and carjacked

PUEBLO, Colo. - Pueblo Police are searching for a man who kidnapped a 60-year-old woman and then stole her car.

It happened in the parking lot of the Lowe's on Highway 50 Tuesday morning (4/8/14).

The victim, a Lowe's employee, told police that she was leaving work at 9:12 a.m. when a man walked up to her and demanded her keys.

The woman says he forced her into the car then drove across Highway 50 to the Rodeway Inn Motel. She says the man then ordered her to get in the back of the car. She says that's when she saw an opportunity to get away and ran to the nearest phone to call police.

Investigators say the man stole the woman's mobile phone and her silver 2001 PT Cruiser. The car was later found abandoned in the San Luis Valley.

Police say the man, who has not yet been identified, will face charges for kidnapping, robbery and motor vehicle theft.
