Recent spice-related arrest not the first in southern Colorado

Another spice-related arrest in southern Colorado

FOUNTAIN, Colo. - The arrest of a Fountain convenience store owner was the latest in several spice-related arrests in southern Colorado.

Fountain police arrested the owner of the Kwik Way on Lake Avenue, Kong Hoon Kim Saturday. He is accused of selling the synthetic drug known as spice. The drug has been blamed for three deaths and for making 200 people sick in Colorado.

Police recovered 96 grams of spice from the shop.

Kwik Way is about nine miles away from B Street Smoke Shop. Police busted that shop late last October. They recovered almost 70 grams of spice and more than $500 in cash. One of its employees was arrested.

Less than four miles away from B Street Smoke Shop is Spice of Life. That shop was busted earlier in October. Federal agents collected 156 pounds of spice. The owner and three employees were arrested.

The Drug Enforcement Administration encourages the community to contact them or local law enforcement if you suspect a business is selling spice.
