Remains of missing service dog found

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The community turned out in force to search for Tyler the service dog when he disappeared in August of 2013. Now the search for Tyler is over.

Tyler's owner, Karen Sagahon, confirmed to KRDO NewsChannel 13 Friday (4/11/14) that Tyler's remains have been found.

A post on the Colorado Springs Lost Pet Alert Facebook page indicates that Tyler either starved to death or froze.

Sagahon, who has since received a new service dog, tells KRDO NewsChannel 13 that her heart is broken over the news.

Sagahon says that she has been lost since Tyler disappeared last year and that he did not deserve to die cold and alone.  She says she's relieved to finally have some closure.

Karen Sagahon says she wants to express her heartfelt gratitude and eternal thanks to everyone that helped her search for Tyler.
