COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - It wasn't hard to find Waldo in Colorado Springs Sunday.
Thousands of people dressed up as the iconic character for the third annual Waldo Waldo 5K in America the Beautiful Park.
The event raises money for Waldo Canyon restoration projects.
"It's a good excuse to buy a costume and a good cause," Jonathan Miller said.
Chelise Foster started the event to help out people living in one of her favorite Colorado communities.
"I actually went hiking in Waldo Canyon a lot as a kid. We went hiking in Waldo Canyon about two weeks before the fire came through," she said.
Over the past two years, the event has raised more than $75,000 for fire recovery projects.
Some runners said they are happy to help make a difference.
"It was a great cause, so it was a no brainier to come out here and support the Waldo Canyon community," Jake Seratte said.
