BLACK FOREST, Colo. - Evacuees lost a lot of services during the fire, including utilities.
But while, it's going to take a few more day for everything to be up and running again, there are many signs of progress.
KRDO caught mail being delivered and businesses working around some lost conveniences.
"We are happy to be home," said Shari Warren, owner of Spirit Keeper. After being evacuated for days, Warren was able to reopen her business on Monday. But she had to do it without hot water.
"We've made some adjustments," said Warren. Temporarily, she plans to use paper cups and bottles.
In the meantime, mail deliveries resume at the Ridge Point Apartments.
"I'm always very concerned about my customers," said letter carrier Becky Wilcox. She says while no one on her route lost their home, many had disruptions in mail service.

The Black Forest Retail Postal Unit at the Forest Plaza Market reopened today. All mail and services are being serviced out of the Briargate Station.
Most mail for 80908, which is the heart of the Black Forest, will not be delivered because of road closures. This mail is being held at Briargate Station, 8585 Criterion Dr, and can be picked up at the side door in the lobby from 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. The phone number to the station is (719) 265-4409.
Black Hill Energy is busy restoring natural gas service to customers affected by the fire. Wes Ashton with Black Hills energy said about 25 percent of customers gas lines are up and running.
Ashton said technicians are going door-to-door to restore service, which involves turning meters back on and relighting pilot lights on natural gas equipment and appliances.
