Shooting at Memorial Park isn't keeping skaters away

Skaters not scared away by shooting

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Memorial Park's skate park was full of people on skateboards and bikes a day after a shooting took place there.

Police are still investigating the shooting. They say the victim, a 22-year-old man was sitting at the Memorial Park Skate Park when one person walked up to him. There was an argument, and the victim was shot.

The victim was rushed to Memorial Hospital and was last reported in critical condition.

The suspect got away on foot according to police. He is described as a Black man, about 5'11", with a medium build. He was said to have been wearing a gray hoodie and baggy black pants.

Memorial Park is located east of downtown Colorado Springs. The skate park is located in the northeast corner of the park near E. Pikes Peak Avenue and S. Union Boulevard.
