Springs sexual assault suspect arrested

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs police say they have arrested a suspect in the sexual assault of another man.

Police announced the arrest of Justin Jay Hatfield, 38, via Twitter just after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014.

The victim told police he was near Garden of the Gods Road and 30th Street Monday night when he saw someone who was out of gas and needed a ride.

The victim told police he gave the man a ride, but during that ride the hitchhiker suddenly threatened the driver and said he would kill him if he didn't comply.

The hitchhiker made the victim drive to an unknown location and sexually assaulted him.

The victim told police the hitchhiker made him drive back into town to a King Soopers at Fillmore and Centennial where the victim said he escaped.
