Students Threatened At Gun Point

Victims of Attempted Armed Robbery

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Two University of Colorado at Colorado Springs students are the victims of an attempted armed robbery. It happened Monday night at the Sun Set Creek Apartments. UCCS rents two buildings there and uses them a student apartments.

The Colorado Springs Police Department responded to the crime because it happened off university groups. Police say the students had parked outside of their apartment building when two men blocked in their car and approached them. The men were armed and demanded money. One of the students was punched in the face, but was not seriously injured.

Students that live in the area say they still feel safe despite the incident. UCCS police have increased patrols at the complex since the crime.

The two criminals got away, but police continue to search for them. Both men are white and in their late 20s. One is 5'10'' and was driving a white BMW. The other is 6'2'' and was driving a black SUV.
