PUEBLO, Colo. - The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office is searching for a teenager who escaped while being transferred from court to the Pueblo Youth Center.

Deputies say that the teen got away around 3 p.m. He had just gotten out of a van and was about to be escorted back inside the building when he ran off.

The 16-year-old was last seen wearing a leg brace. Deputies say he ditched his Pueblo Youth Center uniform, and it's unknown what he is wearing right now.

The Sheriff's Office says his criminal history includes property and truancy charges.

The search for the teen is currently focused on the area of 19th St. and Montezuma Rd.
