Three people injured in motorcycle crashes

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Three people were taken to the hospital after a couple motorcycle crashes in Colorado Springs.

The crashes happened shortly before midnight Saturday on Union Blvd. near Acacia Dr.

Police say a 21-year-old man riding a motorcycle with an 18-year-old female passenger was speeding down Union Blvd. with a group of other motorcycle riders. The man lost control and crashed into the center median. Both the man and the woman were thrown from the motorcycle.

Another motorcycle rider crashed after hitting debris from the first crash.

All three people involved in the crashes were taken to the hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

The 21-year-old man is expected to be charged with reckless driving and two counts of Vehicular Assault.

Police say speed was clearly a factor in the crash.
