Traffic accident kills one and hurts two other teens in Teller County

WOODLAND PARK, Colo - A traffic accident just west of Woodland Park has killed a 15 year old boy and injured two other teens.

The crash happened on Highway 24 in front of the Pikes Peak Regional Hospital a little after 7:00 A.M. Friday, according to Colorado State Troopers.

Fifteen-year-old Kevin McDonald was killed in the crash, according to the Colorado State Patrol. A 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were also hurt, troopers said.

All three teens were in the same car, a 1995 Jeep. That car collided with a Lincoln SUV. The 60-year-old driver of the SUV had only minor injuries, according to troopers.

Woodland Park High School has issued the following statement (prior to the release of the name of the victim who was killed):

As you may or may not have heard, there was a severe accident this morning that involved 3 of our students.  At this time, we know that one of them has passed away.  The other two are okay with minor injuries.  Out of respect for the families we can not release the names at this time.
