Truck rams into Colorado Springs store

Truck crashes into Colorado Springs store

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A driver crashed into the Grow Store on West Colorado Avenue 10 minutes after the store closed. It's the second time a driver crashes into the store this year.

Police say a 30-year-old man was driving west on Colorado Avenue when he swerved to avoid hitting a car traveling north on 7th Street. According to police, the driver of the white pickup over-corrected, striking a light pole, a tree and then crashing into the store.

An employee inside the store sustained minor injuries to his shin. He was treated at the scene. The driver of the pickup was not injured.

The driver faces a misdemeanor charge for careless driving causing an injury.

Police say the store did not sustain major structural damage. It's unknown when the store will reopen or how much repairs are estimated to cost.

In January, a police officer crashed into the building.
