Two Springs Men Arrested On Burglary Charges

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs police said they recovered stolen items and arrested two men accused of several burglaries.

Darius J. Hicks, 22, and Keith McClease, 28, were arrested on Friday morning at the Verde Meadows Apartments in the 1400 block of S. Chelton Road. According to police, they face multiple burglary charges.

Officers said they had gotten a trespassing call and found out that the suspect had previously threatened apartment management with a gun.

Police said they located and identified the suspect in one of the apartments. Officers got permission from the renter of the apartment to search it.

They found three large flat screen televisions as well as a rifle, laptop computers and jewelry.

Police said the items they found were stolen in various burglaries throughout Colorado Springs. Many of the recovered items were returned to owners.
