Violent letter confiscated from Ebel in 2006

Ebel fantasizes about torturing and killing prison staff

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Accused killer Evan Ebel fantasized about torturing and killing prison staff.  He wrote about it in a letter to a woman named Shawna in 2006.  It ended up being confiscated by prison officers.

KRDO News Channel 13 obtained a copy of the letter.

In it, Ebel starts off "Hey baby girl.  How's Life?"  Then he starts on a rant about prison workers.  He writes, "I fantasize about catching them out on bricks and subjecting them to vicious torture and eventual murder ... this gets me through the days with some degree of sanity."

The letter is two and half pages long and includes a lot of expletives and a swastika.  It is written in all capitals letters.

In the letter, it seems he is responding to a previous letter from Shawna.  He asks her about some guards and if they were trying to put hands on her.  Then, he instructs her to remember their full names and any other personal information such as where they live.

Then, Ebel writes, "We'll go ahead and add that to our long list of fun."  Then he draws an angry smiley face.  He goes on to write about who's who in prison and talks about a few inmates from Colorado Springs.

Ebel signs the letter, "A God among men. Valhalla bound.  Big bad evil Evan Ebel himself."
