Woman Almost Kidnapped, Community Shocked

Woman Escapes Kidnapper

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A woman said she was almost kidnapped in Colorado Springs. The near-abduction has people on edge on the Westside. Police are asking for the community's help catching the man responsible,

The woman was walking home on 23rd and Uintah near Thorndale Park at 7:30 Wednesday night. That is when, she said, a man tried to take her, but she managed to get away.

Thursday afternoon people at the park said they were shocked.

"It is really scary. I have two daughters and a grandson and they walk up and down Uintah all the time, and come to this park. It is just really scary," said Samantha Franco

Franco and her family were at Thorndale Park to enjoy the nice weather, and said they still felt safe in the area, but that they would always have their large dog with them.

The man police are looking for is white, about 30-years-old, 6-feet-tall with a husky build. The SUV he was driving is green with Wyoming tags. If you have seen or know anything call police at 444-7000.
