Woman killed in crash on Highway 115

FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. - A woman has died after crashing her car on Highway 115 near Florence, according to state troopers. 

Investigators said the the woman was driving a 2005 Saturn sedan when she lost control of the car and drove off the road and into a ravine.

Officials said she was the only person in the car and she died on scene.

State Patrol was notified of the crash at about 11:00 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators said they believe snowy and icy conditions played a role in the crash. The name of the victim is not yet being released.

One lane of highway 116 is open and officials are alternating directions of traffic. Officials said drivers should expect delays in the area.
