Woman plans not guilty plea in gun purchase

CENTENNIAL, Colo. - A woman accused of buying the gun used to kill Colorado's prisons chief plans to plead not guilty.

Twenty-two-year-old Stevie Marie Ann Vigil is scheduled to be in court Tuesday. Her attorney, Normando Pacheco, says she plans to plead not guilty to a charge of illegally buying a gun.

Prosecutors allege she bought a 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun on March 6 and gave it to Evan Ebel. Ebel is the only suspect named in the killing of corrections director Tom Clements. As a convicted felon, he wasn't allowed to have a gun.

Vigil is free on $25,000 bond.

Ebel has also been linked to the killing of a pizza deliveryman two days before Clements was killed.
