COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

Colorado Springs Police say a 77-year-old man was shot while confronting a stranger who was standing next to his vehicle.

The incident happened in the 3000 block of W. Pikes Peak Ave. on the morning of August 13, 2014.

The victim told police that he walked out to his vehicle to find the man standing next to it. He said that when confronted, the man pointed a gun at him. The victim said that he pushed the man's hand down and that's when the gun went off. He was shot in the leg.

The victim was treated at the hospital and released.

The man with the gun is described as being 20 to 30 years old with brown hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans.
