Man from Colorado Springs killed in car crash north of Pueblo

Single-vehicle accident on I-25

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. - The Colorado State Patrol says a 32-year-old was killed in a single-car crash Wednesday, around 11 p.m.

It happened on I-25, about 15 miles north of Pueblo.

Troopers say Christopher Adkins, of Colorado Springs, was traveling northbound in the right lane when he tried to pass a driver who was in the left lane. CSP says Adkins then lost control of the vehicle, a 1996 Honda sedan, went off the right side of the road and rolled several times. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers say speed is being considered a factor in the crash.
