Former AFA student returns to school as new superintendent

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - A pilot who graduated from the Air Force Academy is making a return as the school's new superintendent.

Major General Jay B. Silveria will take on the role.

He's currently serving as the Deputy Commander of Air Force Efforts in the Middle East.

The General has nearly 4,000 hours of flight-time and has flown combat sorties over the Balkans and Iraq.

He will take over command from Lieutenant General Michelle Johnson, who is retiring.
