Funeral for Green Beret to be held in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - There will be a funeral service held in Colorado Springs for a Green Beret killed in combat.

Thousands are expected to pack New Life Church at 11025 Voyager Parkway in Colorado Springs on Tuesday to honor Sergeant Stephen Cribben.

He was part of the Second Battalion 10th Special Forces group at Fort Carson.

The funeral will start at 10 a.m. followed by a procession to Fort Logan in Denver. The procession will include military and motorcycle riders. 

The funeral home expects Cribben to be transported to Denver between 12:15 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Gov. John Hickenlooper also announced on Monday afternoon that flags should be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings from sunrise until sunset on Tuesday in honor of Sgt. First Class Cribben.
