Monte Vista stabbing leaves one man hospitalized

MONTE VISTA, Colo. -

A family fight in Monte Vista ends with a man being stabbed and his father in jail.

Monte Vista Police said they were called to a home in the 600 block of Jackson Street around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Jesse Marquez, 27, suffered a stab wound to his abdomen. He was rushed to a hospital in Alamosa and required surgery. Police said his injuries were life threatening.

Police arrested John Marquez, 50. He's charged with assault in the first degree.

Police have not said what led to the argument.
