School bus caught in gunfight crossfire

A school bus carrying students was hit with bullets in a gunfight that injured two adults in other vehicles in Kansas City on Thursday, The Associated Press reported.

None of the five children on the bus were injured when shots were fired before 5 p.m., according to police spokesman Lionel Colon. A window on the bus was shot out, the AP reported.

The students were from an elementary school, Kansas City Public School spokesman Ray Weikal said.

A man and a woman were injured in two separate vehicles, but officials said it's unclear if they were bystanders, the AP reported.

The man's injures were not life-threatening and the woman was hospitalized in serious but stable condition, the AP reported.

Police said no arrests were made, the AP reported.
