COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

A portion of Tejon Street was closed and some businesses were evacuated after a natural gas line was hit Wednesday (10/2/13).

The line that was hit is located at 717 N. Tejon Street in downtown Colorado Springs.

The supply of natural gas to the line has been cut off, and work is underway to repair the damage.

Tejon Street is closed between Dale Street and Monument Street. It is expected to open around 3 p.m.

Three businesses were evacuated as a precaution. Those evacuations have now been lifted.

KRDO NewsChannel 13's Rana Novini reports that a contractor accidentally hit the line.
